Terms & Conditions

1. Who we are

PeakPlate ("we", "us", "the Service") is an AI-assisted nutrition logging service operated by the sole trader behind contact email kaigalb30@gmail.com. By creating an account you accept these Terms.

2. The Service

PeakPlate lets you photograph meals and receive AI-generated estimates of food items, calories and macronutrients, plus trends and recommendations. The Service runs in your browser and on our cloud backend.

3. Subscription, trial & cancellation

PeakPlate is offered on a subscription basis at £9.99 per month (GBP, billed monthly via Stripe). New clients start with a 3-day free trial with full unlimited access — payment card is collected at signup but no charge is taken during the trial. If you don't cancel before the end of day 3, your card is charged £9.99 and your subscription renews monthly. You can cancel anytime from Account → Manage billing; if you cancel during the trial you pay £0, and if you cancel after you keep access until the end of the paid period. Refunds are at our discretion and not generally provided for partial months.

3a. Personal-trainer plans

Personal-trainer ("PT") accounts can purchase a seat plan (£40/mo for 3 seats, £60/mo for 5 seats, £100/mo for 10 seats) via Stripe. Each plan generates a unique shareable code that clients redeem during sign-up for coached access. A single code fills any of the seats you paid for.

PT obligations: as a PT you agree to (i) only share your code with clients who have knowingly agreed to be coached by you, (ii) act as an independent professional providing your own nutrition guidance — you accept that PeakPlate's AI outputs are estimates only (see clause 4) and any advice you give your clients based on them is your own, (iii) keep confidential the meal, macro, and analytics data of your coached clients, (iv) revoke access when a client stops coaching with you.

Client protections: a coached client can ask us to unlink them from a PT at any time by emailing kaigalb30@gmail.com. If a PT cancels or their subscription lapses, their code stops accepting new redemptions immediately, and existing coached clients keep coached access until the end of the PT's current billing period, after which they'll need to subscribe individually.

Liability: PeakPlate is not a party to the coaching relationship between PT and client. We provide the tool; the professional advice, results, and any commercial arrangement between PT and client are entirely between them. PTs are solely responsible for their own qualifications, insurance, and compliance with applicable law when providing nutrition or fitness services.

3b. PT team members (co-coaches)

The plan owner can invite additional PTs to co-manage the same roster by sharing a TEAM-prefixed code (1 co-coach on the 3-seat plan, 2 on the 5-seat plan, 3 on the 10-seat plan). Team members have the same view and edit rights on the shared clients as the owner, but only the owner can buy, upgrade, cancel, or revoke seats.

By inviting a co-coach, the owner accepts responsibility for what that co-coach does with client data while on the team. The owner can remove any team member at any time from the Plan page; the removed member is signed out immediately and loses roster access. Co-coaches are bound by the same confidentiality and independent-professional obligations as the owner (see §3a above).

4. AI estimates are not medical advice

Calorie, macro and contextual flag outputs are AI-generated estimates based on a photo. They are inherently approximate and may be wrong. The Service is for general informational and motivational use only. It is not medical, dietetic, or clinical advice. Do not rely on PeakPlate for medical decisions, eating-disorder management, allergen identification, or any condition where accuracy matters. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: upload illegal content, abuse the API, attempt to bypass the scan cap, reverse-engineer the Service, or use it to provide nutrition advice to others without their consent.

6. Your data

We store your email, Google profile picture, the onboarding answers you give, your meal photos, and the resulting analyses. Photos are stored to display your history. We use third-party processors: Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments), and OpenAI (vision analysis). You can request deletion of your account and data anytime by emailing kaigalb30@gmail.com — we will action it within 30 days.

7. GDPR / UK GDPR rights

If you are in the UK or EU you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, object to, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email the address above to exercise any of these rights.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is capped at the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or health-related losses arising from your use of AI estimates.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified via the app. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
